Residents of Anambra state have hailed the outcome of
Saturday’s Governorship Election held across Anambra state, which produced
Governor Chukwuma Soludo as the winner.
The view was reflected when our correspondent spoke with some residents of the state on Monday.
The Anambra State Chairman of the Civil Liberties Organization,
Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme congratulated Governor Soludo on his electoral
victory in the Anambra State 2025 governorship election, saying it was a
well-deserved victory and an affirmation of the people's faith and confidence
in his ability to continue to selflessly serve the state and humanity.
He also wished tremendous accomplishments in his second
term.
Ezekwueme called on the Governor to be magnanimous in
victory and ensure reconciliation and healing.
“We appeal to other contestants to accept the outcome of the
election and not to embark on unnecessary litigations.
“Governor Soludo should extend his hand of fellowship to
other contestants and advise his supporters to shun provocative utterances
against opponents to douse tensions, because losers today may be winners
tomorrow,” he advised.
Ezekwueme commended DIG Ben Okolo, CP Abayomi Shongule, and
others for providing adequate security before, during, and after the election.
According to him, their prompt actions in response to
distress calls deserve commendation and appreciation.
He said, “It is cheering news that when CP Abayomi Shongule
was alerted of some miscreants who came to disrupt the election at Onitsha, he
patriotically and promptly dispatched his men, and normalcy was restored.
“We thank the Anambra State electorate for their peaceful
disposition and call on our political, religious, traditional, market, and
Civil Society Organizations' leaders to earnestly educate our people to always
participate in every periodic election."
On his part, the Sarkin Fulani Awka and Chairman, Arewa
community in the state, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, also hailed the governor’s
victor, calling on him not to relent in providing dividends of democracy to Ndi
Anambra.
“On behalf of the Arewa community in Anambra State, I
congratulate His Excellency, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on his well-deserved victory in the
November 8th, 2025 governorship election.
“We commend the Independent National Electoral Commission
and all security agencies for conducting a smooth, free, and fair election.
“Your Excellency, your re-election is a reflection of your
good work and the progress seen across Anambra State. We urge all contestants
to accept the result in good faith, as leadership comes from Allah.
“Congratulations once again, and may God grant you wisdom to
continue leading Anambra to greater heights,” he said.
